Finding work through reputable online modeling agencies is perhaps one of the best ways to making a name for yourself as a model. Web based modeling agencies are a convenient way for fresh models to find their way in the fashion world. Using CompCards, resumes, and headshots, models can promote themselves and attract potential agents and clients. If you are wondering what a CompCard is, let us tell you that it is the short form of Composite Card and works in the same way a business card works for you and me. A CompCard is an important piece of document and can’t be taken for granted unlike the regular business card. As a matter of fact, many agencies may even refuse modeling applicants if they don’t have a CompCard!

A CompCard contains your vital stats as well as features like eye color, hair length and color etc. The size of a CompCard is 5.5 X 8.5 inches, but could vary from agency to agency. Models should always have their best profile shot on their CompCard. A total of 5 images (1 big that covers half the CompCard and 4 smaller images) are put on the CompCard for all to see. Of course, you can be flexible depending on the nature of the audition and the type of agency you are visiting. Make sure the printing on your card is of the best quality and make sure you keep some copies, just in case. CompCards with bad print quality can be a real let down and can tarnish your reputation in one instant. Since a CompCard is even more important than a business card make sure you keep it in a good condition always.

Finally, another important thing to keep in mind for all models is to conduct themselves professionally at all times. Whenever an online modeling agency contacts you for an audition, confirm your presence and reach the venue 5-10 minutes before time, but never late! Before leaving home check that your CompCard has the most recent images and your modeling portfolio is also updated. Online modeling agencies and communities today offer models plenty of good opportunities, but taking advantage of them lies in your hands only!
